CSN and the Clark County School District to host free Tech Expo April 29

The expo promotes science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs that help prepare students for careers in these exciting and complicated fields. CSN and many community partners from the industry and academia offer this opportunity to spark students’ interest in scientific and technological professions. These children are part of the generation that could make astonishing discoveries about space and medicine, and will be expected to transform today’s dreams into tomorrow’s technological realities.

More than 2,500 students are expected to attend the free educational expo. Community members are also welcome.

“Getting schoolchildren excited and passionate about the STEM fields is our mission as educators,” said Dr. Michael Spangler, dean of CSN’s School of Advanced & Applied Technologies. “These fields offer high-demand, high-wage careers that are vital to Nevada’s economic well being and our nation’s future.”

Exhibits and demonstrations include:

  • Web design demo
  • Apprenticeship exhibits
  • Chemistry magic show
  • Planetarium shows
  • Creepy crawlers
  • Gross, cool dead stuff
  • And much more!

The Science and Technology Expo, sponsored by the CSN Foundation, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29 and is free to attend. For more information please call 702-651-4959.
