Classified Employee of the Month- May 2022- Joy Lamb

Joy Lamb is an Administrative Assistant I for Career Services on the CSN Charleston campus. She is known for starting her day with a smile and a willingness to help anyone who needs it. She never misses a beat as she is called upon to assist with a variety of task each day and her dedication to CSN students is second to none.

She has a keen awareness of here environment that allows her to anticipate the needs of her colleagues without prompting. Her natural curiosity has given her many opportunities to learn new things and she very quickly becomes proficient in new tasks and duties.

Joy is known for maintaining a Students First focus and delivers exceptional service to everyone she encounters through out the day. “She takes time to listen to people to understand their concerns, ” wrote Dr. Candace Morris in her nomination, “Joy helps guide students to where they need to be and she can often save them time by providing information they didn’t know they needed.”

She utilizes critical thinking skills to determine student needs and offer the best solution possible. Her department credits Joy with keeping them on track and focused to get things done.

The Classified Employee of the Month will receive $200, a certificate, a designated parking spot (when we return to campus) and be recognized on a plaque at all three campuses.

The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional classified employees who stand out among the many employees that consistently perform at a high level. Please nominate those individuals that are thriving in the work at home environment.

Ranking and selection by the council members is “blind.” The employee name and work area on the nomination form will be hidden from the council, thus we are asking for the nominator’s cooperation in not mentioning names and work areas in the narrative, when possible. Nominees who are not selected as the CEOM, will be considered for two additional months.
