CSN Planetarium to Host Moon Rock Samples

The rocks, on loan from NASA, are featured in an ongoing lecture series hosted by the college

moon-landing-62879_960_720LAS VEGAS, Sept. 7, 2016 – The College of Southern Nevada’s Planetarium will host an exciting lecture series this month featuring samples from NASA’s Apollo missions to the moon. This will be part of the CSN Planetarium-NASA Space Grant lecture series.

The marble-sized moon rock samples, which are on loan from NASA, will be available for public viewing and inspection via microscope.

The Planetarium’s guest speaker will be Charles Kotulski, a CSN chemistry instructor who has been granted certification by NASA to access the lunar samples.

There will be three talks at different times and days to give as many people a chance to see them as possible.

  • 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 28
