Students work with award-winning chefs in one of the college’s most popular programs

LAChefs1S VEGAS, Sept. 2, 2016 – The College of Southern Nevada’s nationally renowned Culinary Arts Program was named one of the nation’s best by a prominent college ranking organization.

The website www.bestchoiceschools.com ranked CSN’s program as the seventh best in the nation. The ranking cited several factors, including that students can earn either a certificate or an associate degree, students operate a fully functional on-campus restaurant and work with award-winning chefs, and that the program offers a low student-to-faculty ratio.

“The key to our program’s quality is we’re very stringent when it comes to our faculty hires,” said Chef Tom Rosenberger, chair of CSN’s hospitality-management program. “They’ve all worked in the industry and have risen to become successful managers for at least five years before we’ll even consider them.”

The program’s popularity has always been a constant here in southern Nevada, home to some of the nation’s finest restaurants. Classes, which are frequently at capacity, are offered seven days a week, morning, afternoon and evening. Since the closure of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts earlier this year, the popularity of CSN’s program has only increased.
