First Day of Classes Get Going

So far, so good.

The first day of the Spring 2014 semester at the College of Southern Nevada is underway, and students are excited about it.

Student Akiko Govan, 18, was hanging out in the student services center on the West Charleston campus this morning reading a book before classes began. She’s in her second semester at CSN after graduating from the Northwest Career and Technical academy.

She said she’s loving CSN and sees it as an affordable way to learn a new art form. She’s learned to read music, is learning how to play the piano, and might major in music one day. “I figured why not,” she said. “Why not try it?”StudServ

Student worker Victor Carbajal-Nunez was manning a help desk this morning. He said all was going well as he helped students navigate the MyCSN system. “It’ll get busy later,” he said. “Really busy.”
