Erol Welshons is a Shop Supervisor in the Facilities Management department located on the CSN Charleston campus. He was nominated for Classified Employee of the Month in June 2021 by his colleague Don Boyer in part because of his “can-do” attitude. Boyer describes him as a great mentor and leader, always willing to share his vast knowledge with his team.
“Erol sets the tone for his team,” wrote Boyer. “He always comes into the shop with a cheerful, positive attitude.” Welshons adapted to meet the changing needs of the college during the pandemic and helped inspire his team to remain focused to ensure compliance with evolving health and safety guidelines.
Welshons completed numerous campus enhancements during the pandemic that will help students, faculty and staff transition back to in-person learning. He oversaw the remodel of sixteen classrooms, 10 office spaces and associated common areas during the pandemic. And he helped make campus parking lots safer by updating the paint for over thirty speed bumps and pedestrian points of entry.
Welshons is described as an exceptional representative of the College of Southern Nevada. “He maintains a high level of professionalism when dealing with external vendors, contractors and the general public,” said Boyer. Congratulations Erol Welshons on a job well done!
