Las Vegas native and former CSN Coyote baseball star Bryce Harper won the 2015 National League Most Valuable Player award in a unanimous decision by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
Congratulations, Bryce!
He led the league in on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and tied for the league lead in home runs. Harper is the first Junior College baseball player since Albert Pujols to win the MVP Award (2005,08,09).

Harper enrolled at CSN in the spring of 2010 and played one season where he help lead the Coyotes to SWAC, Region 18, ad Western District Championships, and earned a trip to the NJCAA College World Series. Harper played in 66 games, hit 31 home runs, had 98 RBI’s, a .443 batting average, .526 on-base percentage, and .987 slugging percentage. He still holds several single-season records at CSN, most hits (101), runs scored (98), runs batted in (98), total bases (225), slugging percentage (.987), and home runs (31).
