CSN has a new vice president for student affairs, starting today.
Juanita LeFlore Chrysanthou brings more than 25 years experience in higher education administration to the college, much of it serving students at community colleges across the nation.

She will join CSN vice presidents for academic affairs, finance, and strategic initiatives and administrative services.
She comes to CSN from the Lone Star College System, where she served as vice chancellor of student success. She also has experience in Nevada, serving as vice president for student services at Truckee Meadows Community College from 2004 to 2009. Her experience also includes work in California, Arizona, and Georgia.
She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience leading student success initiatives to CSN. Student success is among our highest priorities.
What’s more, Chrysanthou has experience at a Hispanic Serving Institution, co-directing a Title V grant while at Bakersfield College. CSN recently announced it met the federal criteria to become a Hispanic Serving Institution. This essentially means that CSN, like other HSI’s across the nation, has established a student population that is at least one-fourth Hispanic.
Achieving that designation allows CSN to apply for grants that will benefit the college as a whole.
Among her many accomplishments, Chrysanthou has been involved in financial aid improvements, student success initiatives, assessment and testing, counseling, career services, and many more.
While in Nevada, she developed a plan that led to improved graduation rates at TMCC, implemented a mandatory student orientation system not unlike the one CSN has recently developed to improve student outcomes, and worked with the local school district to smooth the transition for high school students entering college.
