Telescopes and eclipse glasses will be available at the free, public event
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 14, 2017 – Join expert astronomers from the College of Southern Nevada’s Planetarium to experience the celestial event of the century.
From 9 a.m. to noon on August 21, the Planetarium will host an event featuring telescopes, educational displays, live streams of the solar eclipse, and more. Free eclipse viewing glasses will also be available.
Las Vegas will experience a 72 percent partial solar eclipse beginning at 9:09 a.m. that day, lasting until 11:52 a.m. It will be the first time in 99 years that a solar eclipse crossed the entire continental United States.
