College of Southern Nevada also top producer of two-year science technologies degrees for women
LAS VEGAS, Sept. 6, 2013 – More students and more women are graduating with two-year degrees in science technologies at the College of Southern Nevada than any other college or university in the nation, according to Community College Week’s Top 100 Associate Degree Producers 2013 report.
Each year, Community College Week, a national publication concerning two-year institutions, releases the special report, featuring the Top 100 degree and certificate producing associate degree-granting institutions for the prior year. The 2013 rankings are based on the National Center for Education Statistics’ preliminary data for 2011-12.

According to the report, CSN graduated 161 students in Science Technologies, a category of Science Technology Engineering and Math degrees that translates to the Associate of Science degree at CSN. The majority of those students, 96, were women.That year, CSN graduated 2,171 students with 2,348 degrees and certificates.
“Nevada needs more STEM graduates and CSN is incredibly proud to be ranked No. 1 in this category,” CSN President Michael Richards said.
