CSN to Hold Soccer Tryouts
The community college will feature both men’s and women’s teams for the fall 2016 season
LAS VEGAS, March 25, 2016 – The College of Southern Nevada will hold tryouts for its new men’s and women’s soccer teams on April 9 at Heritage Park in Henderson.
Interested athletes must bring copies of medical insurance, proof of passing a physical in the last year, and personal protective equipment including shin guards. Participants are also required to arrive in time for the 8 a.m. registration check. No registrations will be accepted after 9 a.m.
“We’re excited to get started on putting together two great soccer teams,” said Dexter Irvin, CSN’s athletic director. “Las Vegas has a substantial pool of talented potential players, so we expect to be competitive in our first year out.”
CSN already boasts competitive men’s baseball, women’s softball, and women’s volleyball teams. It has never had a men’s soccer team, and had a women’s soccer team from 2000 through 2004. The new teams will play in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
All athletes who wish to participate cannot have previously tried out for the CSN soccer teams within the past year. For more information, and to complete required paperwork, athletes should visit www.csncoyotes.com. It is required that paperwork be completed ahead of time.
