Dan J. Corsi, Ed.D., is a first-generation college graduate from Aliquippa, PA who earned a B.S. in Business Management from Grove City College and began working for Dietrich Metal Framing in McDonough, GA, a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 steel company. After a few years, he decided to pursue his passion for helping others by working as a classroom middle school teacher while earning a Master of Arts in Education from the University of South Florida. Later, Dan served as Assistant Professor of Education at Erskine College, a private four-year liberal arts college in South Carolina.
He progressed in his leadership and was appointed as the Administrative Dean of the College and served as the interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. During this time, Dan completed a post-baccalaureate program in educational leadership at Fort Hays State University and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Following the completion of the doctorate degree, he was selected as the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe, LA while they were on probation by their regional accreditor (SACSCOC). Here, Dan and his team put the College back in good academic standing in less than one year. Most recently, Dr. Corsi served as the Executive Director for Nevada State High School, a state sponsored early college charter school, with seven locations in Las Vegas and one in Reno, NV. In this role, he was responsible for the instruction, facilities, and operations at all eight locations.
As a dedicated leader in supporting student success and comprehensive academic programming, he is committed to serving faculty and staff to ensure all students are afforded the opportunity to achieve academic success in an inclusive learning environment. Throughout his tenure in education, he has developed numerous institutional and student-centric programs to enhance the quality, affordability, and accessibility of post-secondary education. Further, Dan believes in the mission of a community college to provide relevant high-quality education and training, experiential learning opportunities, and impactful community engagement to enhance the educational experience of a diverse group of students and the community in which it serves.
As the next Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the College of Southern Nevada, Dan is looking forward to joining the College of Southern team. He is aligned to the mission of CSN and he is looking forward to making a positive impact through servant leadership, leading by example, using data to inform decision-making in support of student success, and engaging with faculty and staff to promote an inspirational and collaborative educational environment.
Dan is a permanent resident of Las Vegas and serves as a Board Member for his community’s homeowner’s association. When he is not working, Dan enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, and completing home renovation projects.
