Congratulations! You’ve finished finals. Now, it’s time to think about spring semester.
As you know, classes for the spring 2016 semester start Jan. 19, which is the Tuesday right after Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
So go get registered for classes. Do it now, so that you have plenty of time to mentally prepare for your new schedule and before your favorites fill up.
What you probably don’t know is that you actually have until 11:59 p.m. Jan. 25 to register for those classes. Unlike recent semesters, we’re allowing students to register a little late this time.
This only counts for regular, semester-long classes, which are 16 weeks, not the short-term courses. You can’t register late for short-term courses.
Anyway, registering late won’t cost anything extra, and it’ll allow you to swap sections for ones at better times in the first week if you need to do so. Or, if you drop classes during that first week, you can sign up for new ones and keep the same amount of credits, which may be important for financial aid.
This gives you more flexibility. Remember, though, that if you do register late, you’re responsible for whatever coursework you missed.
Have fun out there.
