CSN Business Student Selected as Finalist for Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Competition

LAS VEGAS, September 24, 2013 – The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) taking place at UNLV tonight features southern Nevada students vying for recognition and connections to take their businesses to the next level of success. College of Southern Nevada (CSN) student Jonathan Santos is among those entrepreneurs competing. He launched Revive Brand Co., featuring backpacks and hats, following inspiration from his Business 101 class, and teacher, professor Kevin Raiford.

“Teaching allows me to ignite a passion for entrepreneuralism amongst my students,” Raiford said. “Three years ago I implemented a business incubator program at CSN, and I am proud to say that Revive is one of 20 successful student start-up businesses.”

Award winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. in the Stan Fulton Building at UNLV. The student entrepreneur winners for the 2013 GSEA Las Vegas local competition will advance to the GSEA regional competition on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in San Francisco. From there, the top regional and national winners advance to the 2013 GSEA Global Finals in Washington, D.C., Nov. 20-22. At this competition level, students gain the opportunity to engage with world-class entrepreneurs, receive media exposure, win cash, and share in more than $150,000 in donated business services.
