CSN President Dr. Federico Zaragoza Receives Inaugural Hispanic and Latino Legacy Award from Public Education Foundation

The Public Education Foundation (PEF) hosted the inaugural Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner/Cena Patrimonio de Hispanos y Latinos on Wednesday, November 29, in downtown Las Vegas. The event was a cultural celebration, recognizing four inspirational Hispanic and Latino leaders and providing life-changing scholarships for four local students of Hispanic or Latino descent through PEF’s Scholarships Plus program. CSN President Dr. Federico Zaragoza was recognized at the event.

The Public Education Foundation (PEF) and event co-chairs Peter Guzman and Tony Sanchez celebrated educators’ impact on our community and the powerful Hispanic and Latino people who have rooted themselves as sources of encouragement, inspiration, and champions of children who don’t have equitable access to education. In honor of these phenomenal people,

This event event served to inspire and motivate attendees to invest in education while fostering a deeper sense of unity in our community, and an appreciation for diversity in education and other professional spaces. Proceeds from the event will create new scholarships for Hispanic- and Latino-identifying students and support PEF’s Scholarships Plus program, which awarded more than $6.25 million in scholarships to more than 800 students in 2023.
