How to Best Register for Spring 2014

Greetings students!  I imagine many of you are anxious to get enrolled into classes for Spring 2014; so I will make this tutorial as brief as possible.  First I’ll start you off by making a few very important points

a)      Check your enrollment appointment! Each of you returning students has a different and specific day of enrollment.  Get used to logging into your MyCSN Student Center and checking this date so you are ahead of the game!

TIP!  You CAN add as many classes as you like to your “shopping cart” BEFORE YOUR ENROLLMENT DATE! Then when your enrollment date arrives you can quickly add those classes to your schedule.

b)      Know which classes to enroll for!  Before searching for any classes make sure you know which classes you need for your specific major.  You can do this by going to csn.edu, click on “degree programs,” and search for your declared major.  Click on your major and you’ll see the latest version of your degree.

TIP! Meeting with an academic counselor is crucial for your academic success! Schedule an appointment BEFORE the spring 2014 semester begins!

This is especially important if you’re in a Health Sciences related major, and/or if you’re transferring TO or FROM universities.

If you are a current student with a declared major, you should make an appointment with a counselor. You have a dedicated counselor within your major. To make an appointment, go to https://csn.mywconline.net. If you use Chrome as your browser, it will come up faster.

If you are a new student and/or have not declared a major, you should see an academic advisor. Here are the phone numbers for each advising office: Cheyenne 651-4049, Charleston 651-5670, and Henderson 651-3165.

c)       If you are expecting financial aid!   After registering for classes and if you are expecting Financial Aid funds to cover your classes please see the Student Financial Services (SFS) department at any of the three main campuses! And do it fast!

TIP!  This is the most recommended action to take to ensure you have financial aid funds to pay for classes.  Do this immediately AFTER you have added classes to your schedule!

d)      Check for important registration dates! This link will take you to see the important spring 2014 dates!  Check it out!  Plan ahead!  http://www.csn.edu/pages/4687.asp

NOTE! Late Registration will NO LONGER EXIST effective Spring 2014.  So don’t make late registration part of your plans.
