Have a little time on your hands over Winter Break? Start strengthening your academic skills with our Learning Express Library database. Available on or off campus, Learning Express contains interactive tutorials, skill builders, practice tests, e-books and more to help you achieve your educational goals.
The “College Center” in Learning Express will help build your skills in math, reading, grammar, writing and science. Worried about the chemistry class you signed up for? The instantly scored chemistry practice test will assess your knowledge of the subject and identify areas you may need to work on. Do you dread the calculus class on your schedule? Learning Express has a tutorial for that. There are even tutorials to help you prepare for college placement exams.
If your computer skills could use a little sharpening, or if you’re taking an online course for the first time, the “Computer Skills Center” will walk you through the basics of Windows. You’ll learn how to use the Internet, send emails, create and attach Word documents and print. Once you get the hang of it, you can learn how to use PowerPoint, Publisher, Photoshop and more popular software tools for class presentations and projects.
You can go direct to Learning Express or through the database page on CSN Library website. From off-campus, you’ll need to log in with your NSHE ID number and your CSN computer/Canvas password. If you haven’t activated that account yet, you can do it here. Once you’re ready to use a tutorial or take a practice test, you’ll need to create a free individual account by clicking on the “Register” link in Learning Express. This short video will help you register and get started. If you need help or more information about Learning Express, ask us!
