Electronic Textbooks: Some providers are making textbooks available for free to students during COVID-19. Try searching for your textbook at:
- RedShelf– This company is partnering with the publishing community to provide students with up to 7 free ebooks through May 25th
- Cambridge University Press– Free access to HTML textbooks
CSN Libraries Ask A Librarian– Via chat, email or text, our CSN librarians can let you know the availability of your textbook:
- We will need to know the title of the textbook, your instructor’s name, and the course code & section number (ex. BIO101-1001), as well as the campus the course was held prior to March 18th (ex. Charleston, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Online, other)
- If your textbook was on reserve at one of our campus libraries before March 18th, we may be able to email you some pages or chapters
- Due to copyright and other restrictions, we can only make portions of a textbook available to you digitally
- We can only email copies of textbook pages to your CSN email address, which must end in @student.csn.edu or @csn.edu
- It will take several days from when you place your textbook request to when you receive the pages
