It’s Time to Enroll for Spring 2017 at CSN

Students can now apply for financial aid earlier than ever before in new, easier process

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 15, 2016 – As students begin registering for the spring 2017 semester at CSN this Saturday, Nov. 19, they may notice some important changes to the federal financial aid application process.

Now, instead of waiting until January to apply, students can begin filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (commonly known as the FAFSA) now. In addition, the form simpler than in previous years.

“It’s easier than ever before because the income status is based off the 2015 year,” explained Victoria Goeke, CSN assistant vice president for financial aid. “In most cases, those taxes have already been filed. Most students will be able to use the IRS data retrieval tool, taking the guesswork out of completing the income information on the FAFSA.”

More than two-thirds of CSN students receive financial aid, including grants, loans and scholarships. Classes for the spring 2017 semester begin Jan. 17, 2017.
