Did you know that May is National Photo Month? Aspiring photographers, take advantage of these contests:
Smithsonian Magazine: From March 28 through November 30, 2017, Smithsonian Magazine invites photographers age 18 and up to enter in the following six contest categories: Natural World, Travel, People, The American Experience, Altered Images, and Mobile. Photographs must have been shot by the entrant since January 1, 2015.
National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year: $15 per entry. Must create an online National Geographic account (with an email address) to enter. Grand prize winner receives a 10-day trip for two to the Galapagos Islands. Categories include: Nature, Cities, and People.
The Nature Conservancy: A global photo contest. In celebration of the earth, their photo theme is “What’s Your Nature?” Deadline is May 31.
And since it’s also Finals Week, you might need a break to show off your artistic talent. Take a moment to snap a photo of how you study, and tag our library’s Instagram account! (@csnlibrary).
Here’s a few cool photos taken by our CSN librarians–one for each campus!
