Decorate Your Graduation Cap @ CSN Libraries!

CSN’s graduation ceremony is on Monday, May 20 at 6pm at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV. You earned that cap–don’t let it get lost in the crowd! Come to our cap decorating event:

What is the cap decorating event?
It’s a fun event that brings CSN graduating students together to decorate their graduation caps while listening to music and having a good time. Supplies include: jewels, pompoms, letters, and glitter cardstock.

How did the cap decorating event come about?
The event was inspired by two student workers from North Las Vegas Campus Library. In Spring of 2018 Kimberly Flores-Garibay received her Associate of Science degree and Rachel Beckworth received her Applied Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Kim transferred to UNLV and Rachel had an immediate job offer waiting for her degree to confer. Both Kim and Rachel decorated their caps, became CSN graduates and moved on to bigger and better things!

How were supplies made possible?
In the event’s first year supplies were made possible thanks to donations from library faculty and staff. In 2019 CSN Libraries partnered with Alumni Relations to bring the event to the Spring 2019 Coyote Howl event. Thanks to leftover supplies CSN Libraries is able to host the event once again on Thursday, May 16 at the North Las Vegas Campus Library.

What do you like most about the cap decorating event?
It gives CSN Libraries an opportunity to celebrate students at such an exciting time, graduation!
